Coupled with our trip to Turks and Caicos was a stopover in Haiti for work trip for me and volunteering for Nicki.
Coming off a paradisical isle and being thrust straight hustle and bustle of Port-au-Prince was a bit of a shock. Outside of work hours, we did find some great restaurants and interesting neighborhoods. We also feel like there was much more to be explored in Haiti overall.
Nicki's volunteer work took place in Cap-Haitien, Haiti's second largest city on the North coast. Getting away from PAP allowed a completely different feel with much less craziness and far fewer development workers. I unfortnately, got to explore very little of Cap-Haitien due to a particularly strong case of travelers's sickness which left me pretty useless for a few days.
